A side project for Bewitched vocalist/guitarist Marcus E. Norman, Sweden's Ancient Wisdom (originally simply plain Ancient, but that name was already taken by a Norwegian band) bucked the usual trends of Scandinavian death/black metallic element with their very melodic, comparatively irksome and haunting compositions. Formed in 1992, the band likewise featured guitar participant Andreas Nilsson, bassist Frederik Jacobson keyboard player Jens Ryden and drummer Ulf and issued their number one demos "In the Eye of the Serpent" and "Through Rivers of the Eternal Blackness" in short thenceforth. Obsessed with aspects of Viking history and mythology, Ancient Wisdom's atmospherical debut For Snow Covered the Northland finally adage the idle of day in 1996 (though it had been recorded iI years in the beginning). By so, Norman was the only unexpended original boyfriend member, and decided to retain full control of the band from that point forrard, starting with 1997's The Calling and onward with 2000's รข€¦And the Physical Shape of Light Bled. A followup, tentatively entitled Universal Annihilation is currently in the workings and scheduled for release in later 2002.

Alan Cumming - Cumming Blasts The Media For Gay Scaremongering

Scottish actor ALAN CUMMING has blamed the media for making gay actors too scared to come out.

The X-Men star insists the press' portrayal of homosexuality as a controversial lifestyle is making many performers hide their sexual orientation - but insists the public don't care.

Cumming - who married his partner Grant Shaffer in a civil ceremony last year (07) - tells the BBC, "I don't think the people that go see films care that much - the media make it more of a deal and it's made into controversy.

"I'm quite outspoken in the media about what I perceive as a civil-rights struggle that gay people in America are still going through. But I don't think that I only play gay characters, or I wouldn't be as convincing if I had a wife or a girlfriend in a movie."

Derek Munn, of gay rights organisation Stonewall, says, "Stonewall has long been concerned about the representation of lesbian and gay people, both in the film industry and the media in general.

"The pitifully low number of openly lesbian or gay actors suggests that there is a problem. The film industry needs to think about why it is that gay actors choose not to come out."

Jessica Alba Welcomes a Daughter

Newlywed Jessica Alba is a new mom!

The actress gave birth to a baby girl on June 7. Honor Marie Warren is the first child for Jessica and her new husband, producer Cash Warren, 31.

The couple furtively tied the knot at a Beverly Hills courthouse on May 19, surprising even her family, who was kept completely in the dark. Dating since 2004 after meeting on the set of Fantastic Four, Jessica and Cash, who weathered a short split last summer, announced they were expecting in December and got engaged two weeks later.

The whole pregnancy was just chill for the 27-year-old, who frequently took to her celebrity MySpace page to blog about her nine months, which included a lot of traveling, red carpets and, of course, eating for two.

"Every day I have eaten ham and cheese sandwiches, I can't get enough of them," she wrote. "Wish they had these back in the states, the bread is amazing. My tummy is getting bigger by the second and the little one must like the food too because it is moving and kicking like crazy. IT'S THE BEST."
